美媒ESPN盘点给出NBA联盟历史的10大外籍球星，而ESPN最终则是给出了如下的榜单排名，其中第1名是独行侠名宿诺维茨基、第2名是90年代NBA超巨奥拉朱旺、第3名是名人堂内线尤因，接下来就是第4名威尔金斯、第5名纳什、第6名字母哥、第7名大加索尔、第8名帕克、第9名吉诺比利、第10名穆托姆博。在这份NBA外籍球星的历史排名之中，目前的雄鹿队门面球星字母哥位列第6，他也是获得了一个相当不错的榜单位置。
不过对于榜单第1名的NBA球员选择，目前来看则是存在非常大的争议。不可否认，诺维茨基确实是一名非常伟大的NBA超巨，他当年的单核夺冠更是堪称传奇。然而相较于诺维茨基，奥拉朱旺无疑拥有着更加成功的NBA球员生涯。首先在NBA夺冠次数方面，奥拉朱旺曾经两度以当家球星的身份问鼎总冠军，夺冠次数明显高于诺维茨基。另外，奥拉朱旺同样也是拿到过常规赛MVP，而在篮板王、盖帽王、DPOY等荣誉奖项上面，奥拉朱旺都是远远甩开了诺维茨基。
因此，如果按照他们两人的NBA球员生涯荣誉，奥拉朱旺的排名绝对要在诺维茨基之前。当然，诺维茨基也是有着自己的数据优势，虽然他们两人的NBA生涯场均得分都达到20+，不过由于诺维茨基的NBA球龄高达21年，因此诺维茨基的生涯总得分也是超过奥拉朱旺。在常规赛生涯的得分数据方面，诺维茨基顺利达到了30000分的档次级别，奥拉朱旺的生涯总得分则是26946分，毫无疑问无法和诺维茨基一较高下。
非常有意思的是，目前效力于湖人队的JR史密斯，他也是公开质疑这份榜单的合理性，JR史密斯表示道：“并非不尊重诺维茨基，但是奥拉朱旺只排在第二？”显而易见，这份榜单上面奥拉朱旺和诺维茨基的名次顺序，确实是非常值得商榷。除此之外，NBA职业生涯8次入选全明星首发阵容，退役之后则是入选篮球名人堂的姚明，最终竟然无缘榜单的前10名，这同样也是相当不可思议！
5——戈贝尔 法国
戈贝尔就是纯蓝领中锋，但是只要把一件事做到极致，那也是大神。戈贝尔防守很到位，他的护框和篮板都是顶级，他只惧怕矮个后卫，镇守内线效果很好。6次一防，1次篮板王，3次DPOY，他就是霍华德之后，更好的护框内线，把他当球队二当家或者三当家，那绝对好用。
4——恩比德 喀麦隆/法国
恩比德刚拿了得分王，他的进攻在中锋确实强。他的低位脚步华丽，进攻手段丰富，关键还能投三分，真的是没死角。防守端也是精英级别，他现在也是更佳阵容和防守阵容的常客，如果球风再强硬点，篮下统治力会更出色，成为攻防一体只是时间问题。
3——东契奇 斯洛文尼亚
东契奇真的是前途无量，那么年轻已经是打出了巨星风采。他的独行侠绝对核心，在国际赛场更是大杀器，他真的有望成为联盟的门面球星。技术全面，技术扎实，还有大心脏属性，这都是成为超级的必备条件。他已经3次入选一阵，带队能力也不断提高，如果球队配置合理点，夺冠真都有望。
2——约基奇 塞尔维亚
就约基奇这打法，NBA真的没模板，那么慢，那么胖，结果还那么无解。约基奇进攻细腻，看着很慢，你就是防不住。他的传球更是一绝，单论传球能力，在中锋里是独一档。现在已经是手握2个MVP，还有3次一阵，什么时候夺冠并加冕FMVP，他就算是超巨了。
1——字母哥 希腊
字母哥可是超巨了，他就是现役最强外籍球星，这样打下去，诺维茨基都会被他超越。技术越来越丰富，身体更是逆天存在，在NBA他就是大杀四方。4次一阵，4次一防，2个MVP，还有总冠军+FMVP，现在的他已经实现荣誉收割。照这个状态打下去，退役后有望进入历史前10。
